Plumbing questions in Geneva
What extra fees should I expect?
Travel fees, a minimum charge and surcharges at night, weekends and on public holidays are common. VAT of 8.1 % applies. Ask for the total before the visit.
Can any plumber connect to the water or gas network?
No. Work on connections to the public network requires an installer with an SIG concession. Mention it in your request.
Should I call the régie or a plumber directly?
For anything beyond a minor repair, contact your régie first: it may have its own contractors and the landlord often pays for larger defects. Small maintenance like a blocked sink trap is usually yours.
